B's Story!
About the Wine Guy
Hey there, B here!
This is your resident wine lover and all around silly guy here at Hesgonegrapes.com. Check out this snippet about me as we go on this journey of finding inspiration through wineries.
As a former educator and child care provider for a combined total of about twenty years, I thought I was set. Here’s how my story went from education to wine, and I promise, it was not a case of educator burnout turned wino! Just over a year ago I was suddenly and unexpectedly let go from my position as a director of a preschool. Since that job (and career) had become my life, spending about twelve hours a day working at the school, I didn’t know what I was going to do from there.
It took many questions to myself and prayers to God to find out what I was going to do next. I love to travel. I also love the nuances and beauty of winemaking. So I’ve put those two passions together to begin a new chapter of my life. I take the experiences of visiting wineries and the wonderful things I learn and share them here on this blog. I get a little nerdy about wine and things such as how it plays on the palette and how the actual winery lends to the experience of the wine. I go a little nuts, rather ‘grapes’, when discussing wine. Thus He’s Gone Grapes was born and I am happy to share it with you!
I believe that goodness comes from gratitude. While some situations are not ideal, we can always learn something. Life wasn’t designed to be easy, but it was designed to be beautiful. We must endure tough things in order to appreciate the wonderful outcomes. Life is art. Art as a verb, is the process of creating, not just the product itself. So, as I slow down to intentionally appreciate the wonders of my life, I hope to learn more about how humans are interconnected to one another and nature.
Some of my other interests include art and photography. I also enjoy meditation along with reading, writing and just plain being silly. I mean, what’s life if we don’t laugh!
It is my mission in life to slow down and be grateful for all things and to continue to be a lover of learning.
It is my hope that I inspire and spread peace and encouragement to as many people as I can. Check out that mission page to see why this website exists. It goes deeper than the roots on a grapevine.
Much Love,
B. Long
